Squamish, a scenic small town located on the Garibaldy highlands surrounded by the Brackendale Eagles Provincial part to the west, Alice Lake provincial park to the north and the Garibaldy park to the east, adn nestled by the eastern shore of Squamish river, has changed its teture from being a logging town to an outdoor oriented town of young families. It is located in an ecologically pristine environment, and is halfway along the sea to sky highway leading from Vancouver to Whistler.

The town has a vibrant community that support self-help groups and sustainable farming, and has people that are concerned about unending encroachment of unlabelled and untested, potentially harmful GMO ingredients getting into the food web, of ever more toxic pesticides that go with it, and the financial implications of it for the small farmers and consumers.

So, "Squamish CAN" a local organization that stands for Squamish Climate Action Network is hosting a GE-Food-Human Health talk event by noted Candian scientists Drs. Thierry Vrain and Shiv Chopra. The event is to take place at the Sea to Sky Hotel at 7 PM on Nov 20. Admission is by donation, to cover the cost of hosting this event, and to help the nationwide talk tour. The western leg of the tour will cover British Columbia and Alberta, and is to start in Thierry Vrain's hometown of Courtenay, Vancouver Island on Nov 14th and end a month later.

The event is partnered by "On The Farm" and "Power Of Food". The organisers have also created a Facebook Event.
