Phil Harrison, Bobbie Blair, Lucy Nickel, Wally Martin, & Penny Gibson, Emma Bryce - are proud to host the the local Langley event of the cross-Canada No GMO talk tour by the scientists Thierry Vrain adn Shiv Chopra on Nov 22 at the Langley township municipal building at 7 PM.
Bobbie & Lucy were engaged for over a year raising awareness on the harmful events of GMO in film screenings, and canvassing at farmers markets. Lucy Nickel is the founder of the Facebook page GMO free Canada. Bobbie runs GMO free Langley. A young college woman - Emma Bryce, has joined the efforts to make this an event as important for the youth as it is for the rest. Wally Martin, a self made man, has been fighting GMO for a long time, and aspires to be a city councillor some day. Phil Harrison is behind the Coalition for a GE free Surrey, and also a member of the council of Canadians. Wally will be billeting the scientists for a few days.. This is a good example of ordinary citizens getting concerned about GMO and taking action to promote the talk tour., with a hope to reach a soluton based approach for the people's democratic movement to push back at Genetically Engineered food.
