The GE Foods and Human Health Speakers Tour comes to the Revelstoke on Friday, November 29th at 7pm at the Revelstoke Senior’s Centre (603 Connaught Avenue – attached to the Revelstoke Community Centre.

The local food movement is growing in the once productive agricultural zone of Revelstoke. Revelstokians are excited to hear from Thierry Vrain about his experience working for Agriculture Canada and what he has learned since then about the dangers of GMOs. Dr. Vrain’s talk will be followed by a question and answer period, and materials about the process of become a GE Free Zone will be available.

An isolated location, little arable land, and heavy snowfall create large challenges to local food production in Revelstoke. A growing group of citizens are bringing food security to the forefront of municipal concerns.
